Ruth's previous ten years have been in a supporting role in either secure, residential or community-based settings.

Predominantly working with 16-25-year-olds as Homeless Prevention, guiding and supporting into further education, training, employment, apprenticeships and volunteering, as well as focusing on finding suitable accommodation and maintaining their tenancies.

In a previous role, Ruth set up an alternative safe community space for young people to come and develop their skills and many transitioned into either volunteering roles or employment. This centre still runs today!

Having worked in other sectors, including Advertising & Design for several years, she has a creative streak. She also became a successful driving instructor, what hasn't she done?!

Ruth has a passion for helping others, especially addressing homelessness and has supported Shelter for several years. She shares One CIC's vision to address the housing crisis in a hands-on, innovative way. Creating homes where people can be proud of where they live and being part of the community at the same time.

Ruth lives in Leeds with husband Johnny; she enjoys cooking, road cycling (weather permitting - I'm a softee!) and loves to listen to a diverse music range (not thrash metal!!).
